DeSantis Takes a Victory Lap, and Sets a Mandate in His Speech

Flanked by his wife Casey DeSantis, wearing a gold lam? dress that screams, “First Lady,” incumbent Florida Governor and now Florida Governor-elect Ron DeSantis delivered his victory speech to a raucous crowd. DeSantis was declared the winner of the governor’s race, handily beating Democrat Charlie Crist 59 percent to 41 percent.

Governor DeSantis wasted no time in outlining his accomplishments as governor, and how those accomplishments set the stage for a second term in leading the Sunshine State.

In terms of his leadership during COVID, when other state governors were locking down and instituting draconian measures, he iterated:

“Over these past four years, we’ve seen major challenges for the people of our state, for the citizens of the United States, and above all for the cause of freedom. We saw freedom and our very way of life in so many jurisdictions in this country wither on the vine. Florida held the line.

We chose facts over fear. We chose education over indoctrination. We chose law and order over rioting and disorder. Florida was a refuge of sanity when the world went mad. We stood as a citadel of freedom for people across this country, and indeed, across the world.

We faced attacks. We took the hits. We weathered the storms. But we stood our ground. We did not back down. We had the conviction to guide us, and the courage to lead. We made promises. We made promises to the people of Florida, and we have delivered on those promises!”

DeSantis thanked his campaign staff, volunteers, and his executive team who partnered with him to get the business of Florida done. He gave rousing shout-outs to Miami-Dade County and Palm Beach County, heavily Democrat bastions that probably did not vote for him in 2018, but flipped in 2022 to give him the win in this election.

DeSantis declared,

“Thanks to the overwhelming support of the people of Florida, we not only won an election, we have rewritten the political map. Thank YOU for honoring US with a win for the ages.

Freedom is here to Stay!”

The crowd went wild, and started chanting,

“Two more years! Two more years!”

DeSanctimonious 2024 has officially been unleashed.

DeSantis then profusely thanked his first lady Casey DeSantis and declared,

“She is remarkable.”

DeSantis praised her for being by his side, especially in the midst of her recent battle with breast cancer.

DeSantis outlined how Florida now serves as “the promised land” for the nation. How he fought against the indoctrination and mutilation of children, as well as other forms of Woke ideology that he tackled as Florida’s governor.

“We have embraced freedom. We have maintained law and order. We have protected the rights of parents. We have respected our taxpayers, and we reject Woke ideology,” he declared.

We fight the Woke in the legislature. We fight the Woke in the schools. We fight the Woke in the corporations.

We will never ever surrender to the Woke mob. Florida is where the Woke goes to die!” He exclaimed.

The crowd responded with massive cheers.

“People have come here because our policies work. Leadership matters. We refuse to use polls and put our finger in the wind. Leaders don’t follow, they LEAD.

We set out a vision. We executed on that vision. We produced historic results, and the people of this state have responded in record fashion!”

They have indeed. DeSantis not only garnered a win, but he also established a mandate.

Without much fanfare, Charlie Crist quickly and quietly conceded the race at his election night gathering in St. Petersburg.
