Italy Passes Emergency Decree To Require COVID-19 Vaccine For All Healthcare Workers

The Italian government recently announced that they would require all healthcare workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine or that they would have to stop serving the public and would be suspended, without pay, until the end of the year. In a rather controversial move, the government said that this would be to stop the ‘anti-vax’ movement and protect the citizens. The decree was followed after several outbreaks in Italian hospitals and care homes where health care workers had not received the vaccine.

Prime Minister Mario Draghi announced in an emergency decree that the COVID-19 vaccine would be required for anyone who works in the healthcare profession, including pharmacists. The decree would also legally protect those who are administering the doses from any legal action.

“The aim of the measure is to protect, as much as possible, both medical and paramedical staff and those who are in environments that may be more exposed to the risk of infection,” the decree reads.

Public trust was also diminished after the use of the Oxford/AstraZeneca shot was suspended after several deaths. An incident also occurred where the 14-year-old daughter of a nurse contracted encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain, after receiving the vaccine. Dozens of healthcare workers wrote letters that the long-term effects of the vaccine were unclear and that the vaccine was created in haste. Instead of letting personal health decisions be made by the healthcare personnel, the Italian leadership has declared open war by threatening disciplinary and legal actions.

“The actual data will only be available at the end of 2023. Therefore, I do not consider it ethical and right to use a drug whose side effects are not known, even in the long term. The percentage of effectiveness is not known. It is not known if the vaccinated person can, in turn, reinfect and transmit the infection, there is no certainty of anything,” one nurse said.

While legal experts were unclear on whether or not the emergency decree would pass, the government is determined to impede on the health decisions of their staff.

Even in the United States, some companies are beginning to consider mandatory COVID-19 vaccines as a condition of employment. Liberal mainstream networks are beginning to question how to convince the U.S population to take the vaccine. CNN contributor Dr. Leana Wen seems to want to follow Italy’s footsteps and asked what the “carrot” would be in convincing Americans to get the shot and even suggested taking away “freedoms” in exchange for the vaccine.

Companies, particularly the restaurant industry, have been scared straight by radical left leaders that the COVID-19 vaccine is the only return to some form of “normalcy” and getting the economy on track, instead of the constant government-mandated shutdowns they encountered all last year. This is purely political manipulation happening right before our eyes.
