The Biden-Harris campaign has a serious problem in swing states during the 2024 election, one of which is Michigan. It’s not a surprise, then, that Vice President Kamala Harris was in the Great Lakes state over the weekend, as President Biden was overseas in France for D-Day commemorations.
But before she hopped on a plane to Detroit, on Friday, Kamala Harris appeared on the “Jimmy Kimmel” show, where activists from Code Pink heckled both her and Biden by name over supporting Israel against Hamas, and the host played off the hecklers by pretending it was hurting “his flow.”
Another stop on the vice president’s roadshow included a side trip on Sunday to Ypsilanti, Michigan, making a surprise visit with a Hollywood actress, Octavia Spencer, to a bookstore…to talk about their love of books, apparently:

In between those two poles, Harris appeared at a Democrat Party dinner with Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Saturday:
Introducing Harris was Spencer, along with Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI). That’s when she made a truly inappropriate remark about the news that IDF and other Israeli authorities had rescued four Hamas hostages in Gaza. Harris said:
“Before I begin, I just say a few words about the morning which I know weighs heavily on all of our hearts,” [Harris] said. “On October 7th, Hamas committed a brutal massacre of 1,200 innocent people and abducted 250 hostages.”
“Thankfully four of those hostages were reunited with their families tonight. And we mourn all of the innocent lives that have been lost in Gaza, including those tragically killed today.”
Wow. She should have stopped at the sentence about the hostages being home safe with their loved ones, instead of barging on with Hamas talking points about “innocent lives” being lost during the rescue mission.
Do we need to remind the White House that there are still Americans being held hostage, along with Israelis and others, by these savage killers? There’s also this crucial fact: RedState’s Jennifer Van Laar wrote earlier on Sunday about some of those keeping the hostages in their family homes and not exactly qualifying as the civilians that apologists try to portray them:

As a bonus, Harris didn’t escape being booed on Friday, at what should be a friendly venue for a sitting Democrat vice president:
[A]s she spoke, Harris was heckled by a pro-Palestinian protester, who shouted: “It’s genocide.”
The Dems aren’t winning over the people they want to, it appears.
Compare what VP Harris said to fellow Democrat, Sen. John Fetterman’s reaction, which was completely joyful and appropriate:
