You might think there was nothing at all going on in the world with how much he seems to be away.
But if he thought he was going to have a completely quiet weekend, he was mistaken. He and Jill went for dinner at his Wilmington campaign headquarters. But as we reported, he had a little excitement last night.

He had his motorcade waiting outside the building, with one of the vehicles blocking off the street. Jill Biden had already gotten into the car. That’s when a sedan smashed into one of the vehicles, just as Joe Biden finished answering a question from a reporter asking about why he was losing to Trump in the polls, and you can see what happened next.

“You’re on the wrong polls,” Biden replied, trying to deflect from just how bad the situation is from him. Just as he said that and turned toward his own vehicle, that’s when the car smashed into the vehicle blocking the street — and you can see how startled he was.

That’s when the Secret Service surrounded him and put him into the car and got him out of there. They seemed a little slow to react, and then they also let Biden stick his head up over the car as he was getting in. That doesn’t seem like the wisest move.
They also surrounded the driver of the vehicle that crashed and pulled guns on him.

No one was hurt, but the police released a statement saying they were looking into the cause of the accident.
“The Wilmington Police Department is investigating the motor vehicle collision, which did not result in any injuries. Investigators are also working to determine if impairment was a factor,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
It is probably also worth noting that it was also raining, and Biden’s motorcade was blocking off the street, so it may have been an accident without any impairment on the part of the driver.
Since Biden was okay, some took the opportunity to see the metaphor of the “crash” that is Biden’s campaign and a foreshadowing of things to come.
