Watch: House Dem Praises ‘Gender Equity’ for Crash Test Dummies, Makes Joe Biden Look Worse in the Process

Whether we like it or not, there is never a dull moment in Washington, D.C. This week has been no exception, what with the return of Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) and the Senate GOP blocking attempts to temporarily replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on the Judiciary Committee taking center stage.

As further evidence, we turn to the budget hearing held Thursday by the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, widely viewed as a failure by House Republicans and for good reason, was scheduled to speak in defense of his department’s budget requests for the 2024 fiscal year.

At one point during the hearing, Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) used her time to praise the Biden administration and Buttigieg for, among other things, prioritizing “gender equity” in crash test dummies:

“You also plan to make important investments to address the roadway safety crisis, including the critical funding that would accelerate the development – and this is an area I’ve written to you about – of the use of female dummies in crash testing. This will start to fight the gender inequity among vehicle safety and crash victims.”

Watch:

As I write this, DeLauro’s comments are being widely shared and mocked across Twitter with people comparing her to a crash test dummy and marveling at the seeming absurdity of what she said.

While I agree that what she said was a little eye-opening, I did some research on this and as it turns out, there is some merit to ensuring different body types are represented in crash testing, though opinions vary as to how much of a difference it would ultimately make.

I’ll leave that debate up to the so-called “experts,” because there was a larger point DeLauro inadvertently made with her remarks that speaks very poorly of her fellow Democrats all the way up to President Joe Biden.

Two things stood out to me:

1) The tacit acknowledgment that there are physical differences in men’s and women’s bodies. This is something that most sane and level-headed people will acknowledge, whether knowingly or unknowingly. In other words, pretty much everyone other than woke Democrats.

2) The Biden White House places a priority on making sure women are appropriately represented in crash test dummies in an effort to try and protect them – yet when it comes to protecting women in sports, Joe Biden and Congressional Democrats prioritize the feelings of transgender “women” – men who now identify as women, like Lia Thomas, and their desire to “compete” against women in their sporting events.

We’ve got serious problems in this country when our government makes it a point to correct so-called gender disparities in crash test dummies and yet tells females to sit back and take it when it comes to protecting women’s sports, having safe spaces like locker rooms and dressing rooms, etc.

The good news here is that, unlike crash test dummies, real people have brains that allow them to form opinions on the priorities of their “leaders.” The bad news is that the Biden administration and Democrats in Congress could not care less about people who disagree with them on this issue.

In effect, they’re treating concerned Americans – including parents and female athletes – like crash test dummies. But in the end, the truth will win.
