MSNBC host Rachel Maddow recently shared her bizarre thoughts regarding the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention’s announcement on face coverings. They updated their guidelines for those who have been vaccinated and said they could remove their masks in indoor and outdoor settings without social distancing.
The radical left mainstream media, however, has been pushing the narrative that maskless people are ‘Grandma killers’ and ‘selfish human beings’ for so long that Maddow admitted on television that she’s going to have to ‘rewire’ her thinking. If Maddow’s comment doesn’t prove that leftism is a mental disorder, then I don’t know what does.
The host was reacting to the news that the CDC updated their guidance and said that people who have been vaccinated can stop wearing a mask (in most circumstances). The Biden Administration also lifted their mask requirements. Maddow called it a “big change” and said that the updated guidelines were going to change how we see each other in this country. She also said they were going to have to ‘unwire’ preconceptions about what a mask or lack of a mask means.
“I feel like I’m going to have to rewire myself so that when I see somebody out in the world who’s not wearing a mask, I don’t instantly think, ‘You are a threat.’ Or you are selfish or you are a COVID denier and you definitely haven’t been vaccinated. I mean, we’re going to have to rewire the way that we look at each other,” Maddow said.
She reiterated President Joe Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci’s calls to be “patient” and “compassionate” regarding how people decide to react to the updated guidelines and if they still decide to wear a mask. She said that the nation was going to experience ‘changing norms’ and that we are going to go through a lot of different reactions in our day-to-day lives.
Social media critics pointed to her use of the word ‘rewire’ as an indication that this was about virtue signaling all along. They even joked that her use of the word ‘wiring’ was proof that she was an ‘MSNBC bot.’ The masks stopped being about public health a long time ago and started being used as a political weapon by the radical left. That much is clear.
CBS’ Gayle King even pressured viewers to keep wearing a mask, adding that she still feels judged in New York and gets the ‘side-eye’ for not wearing a mask outdoors. She said it’s been “monkey-see-monkey-do” and called on the paranoid practices of outdoor transmission and mask-wearing. Democrats have admitted to not being comfortable in ditching their masks because they are more concerned about what people think about them than doing the reasonable and right thing.
Liberal media institutions continue to ignore the science on updated mask-wearing guidelines despite CDC director Rochelle Walensky backing up the “extraordinary amount of evidence” that vaccines are working in the real world.
Maddow admits to being conditioned to the media coverage narrative we’ve been living in for a year now. This is exactly the kind of danger that government pressure with the media’s help presents. Get the vaccine or not – the fear gig is up.
