Border Patrol Arrests Dangerous MS-13 Gang Members Trying To Enter The US

As the crisis at the border continues to grow, Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent Matthew Hudak tweeted a snapshot of gang members who were caught trying to enter the U.S as a part of the most recent migrant wave. The five vicious gang members were detained near the frontier crossings at Laredo, TX. Hudak wrote that the members were trying to evade arrest by attempting to sneak across the border amid those genuinely seeking asylum. This is Biden’s America.

“5 gang members in 7 days! #Laredo Sector #USBP agents arrested a total of 5 gang members in the last week, including an #ms13 & two 18th Street gang members. They attempt to evade arrest by exploiting the influx of migrants attempting to enter our country. #bordersecurity,” tweeted Hudak.

MS-13, otherwise known as Mara Salvatrucha, was set up by Central American immigrants in Los Angeles and has expanded across the continent, particularly in El Salvador and Guatemala. They are known for their particularly gruesome crimes and have the motto “mata, viola, controla,” which means “kill, rape, control.”

An MS-13 gang member, Douglas Alexander Herrera-Hernandez, was recently convicted of capital murder in the 2016 death of a Houston teen and has been sentenced to life in prison. Herrera-Hernandez had asked gang leaders for permission to kill the 16-year-old then had arranged to have him sitting at a park while gang members shot him in the head. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg shared that the county is trying to work to eliminate the gang and send their assassins to prison “for as long as possible.” State officials said they would remain relentless at pursuing the criminals who band together to terrorize communities.

In December 2019, New York federal agency officials announced charges against 96 MS-13 gang members and described it as “the largest takedown of the violent street gang” in New York State history. It was described as one of the largest cases against MS-13, where gang members have been blamed for dozens of killings. Their violence even drew the attention of former President Donald Trump after the 2016 murders of 16-year-old Kayla Cuevas and 15-year-old Nisa Mickens.

“They kidnap, they extort, they rape and they rob. They prey on children, they shouldn’t be here. It’s time for every member of MS-13 to be in fear. Look over their shoulder. Look in their rearview mirror, because ICE and its partners are coming hard, and we’re coming strong,” Trump said when he visited Suffolk County in July 2017.

Just last month, an unidentified 28-year-old from El Salvador and five other men were arrested after trying to cross the US-Mexico border into California. After agents took the 28-year-old in for questioning and processing, they discovered he was a documented MS-13 gang member. All of the men were processed for removal into the country.

Vice President Kamala Harris, however, is still facing criticism for not visiting the southern border as part of her role in addressing the surge of migrants. She recently announced her role in leading the National Space Council but has stirred confusion regarding her border strategy so far.

VP Harris has made multiple trips to promote President Biden’s infrastructure plan and to talk about the Biden Administration’s response to the coronavirus but has grown incredibly quiet regarding the surge of immigrants taking a trip to the border. She consulted foreign leaders to talk about the “root causes” of the border and told reporters she hopes her first trip could be to the Northern Triangle and Mexico.

While the Biden Administration has blamed a combination of the COVID-19 pandemic and “root causes” as a drive-in migration, the surge only got worse when Biden took office. This past month alone has marked this year’s high point so far, with more than 172,000 migrants crossing into the U.S in March alone. Over 18,000 of those encounters were unaccompanied minors.

With pictures of cramped border facilities and gang members getting arrested, critics are calling on Biden and Harris to address the crisis for what it is. The expectations for April are expected to be similar, if not greater. As Border Patrol Agents continue to capture gang members and dangerous criminals attempting to enter the U.S, you’ve got to acknowledge that Joe Biden is not performing his most important job as President – protecting the American people.
