As RedState previously reported, the US State Department gave tens of thousands of dollars to a facility in Ecuador to facilitate “drag shows.” That news was delivered amidst an onslaught of transgender propaganda being pushed by the Biden administration. On Sunday evening, the president sat down with a man who claims to be a teenage girl going through “girlhood” to proclaim his support for physically mutilating children in the name of “gender-affirming care.”

Previously, Biden had claimed that such procedures were a “civil right,” chastizing those who have sought to stop what they view as abuse of children in the name of transgender ideology.
Given all that, it was no surprise to learn that taxpayer money is being used by the State Department to fund drag shows in Central American countries. Their excuse? That it provides a place for transgender people “to express themselves freely and safely.”
The State Department is defending a $20,600 grant for a cultural center in Ecuador to host “drag theater performances,” saying it gives LGBTQ people an outlet “to express themselves freely and safely” in the South American country.
Fox News Digital first reported on Wednesday that the State Department awarded the grant on Sept. 23 to the Centro Ecuatoriano Norteamericano (CEN), a non-profit organization supported by the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Ecuador, to “promote diversity and inclusion” in the region.
I’m curious when it became the mission of the State Department to inject itself into the cultures of other nations. I was under the impression it existed to negotiate agreements and to maintain diplomatic relations with other countries relevant to US foreign policy. Yet, taxpayer money is being used not to advance the governmental relationship with Ecuador, but to push for far-left, on-the-ground cultural narratives.
Ask yourself this. If their decision to do so is really about lowering the chances of danger and discrimination, why isn’t the State Department funding churches in nations where Christians are being persecuted? What is it about men wanting to dress up as women that demand such special attention and use of finite resources?
I think we know the answer to that. This isn’t about actually stopping discrimination. As if rubbing the nose of mostly Catholic Ecuadorans in what they view as immorality is going to do that. Rather, it’s about the globalization of something the left sees as helpful to its overall ideology. It’s about attempting to turn the entire world into some bastardized version of Western Europe, not to help people, but to consolidate power.
The embarrassment is the point. The Biden administration wants to beat you down. They want to make you pay for things you find morally objectionable, whether it’s drag shows, abortion, or something else. They want to make you feel helpless in the face of their deranged onslaught, pushing you to the point of exhaustion.
Yet, their attempts to do so should only push you to fight back harder. You do not have to accept this lunacy, and all it will take is enough Americans standing up to say enough for this to stop.
