One of the problems with former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was that she was always avoiding answering the question. She infamously became known for saying that she would “circle back” when she didn’t know the answer to a question (or didn’t want to provide it). That said, she was far better at the deflection game than the present White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, is. Jean-Pierre doesn’t provide any answers either, but she’s worse at deflecting and her lies are more obvious.
Psaki fled the White House for the ideological safety of MSNBC, where she didn’t have to spend every day thinking of how to justify the latest ridiculous thing that Joe Biden said.
But now that she’s free of having to cover for Biden at every moment, she managed to let a rather significant truth slip out of her mouth when she was talking about the midterms with Chuck Todd on Sunday.

Psaki admitted, “If it is a referendum on the president, they [the Democrats] will lose, and they know that,” Psaki said.
She acknowledged that the economy and crime were going to hurt the Democrats.
She added that Democrats also know that they are vulnerable when it comes to crime. Psaki said Republicans were throwing a lot of money behind ads focusing on crime and Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman.
“That’s where they see his vulnerability,” said Psaki, who stepped down as White House press secretary in May.
“So, yes, the economy is hanging over everything, but you have [to] look at state-by-state factors, and crime is a huge issue in the Pennsylvania race,” she said.
We’re so used to her not telling the truth, it’s surprising when she does. This may be the most honest thing she’s ever said.
But she certainly has it right that the Democrats are going to be in trouble because of Joe Biden. That’s why he and they are trying so hard to deflect from the harsh reality of the economy, crime, and the other major issues that he’s screwed up, and paint the Republicans as “extremists.” That’s why these are the talking points you see the Democrats trying to push everywhere. Because they really have no other option. Republicans have to keep driving home the truth. It wouldn’t be that hard because Americans have long memories and they know who was in charge when their wallets started to get hit hard.
