Tulsi Gabbard Solves Big Tech Problem With Simple Solution

Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has been on the frontlines of putting Big Tech in its place, accusing them of being even more dangerous than rioters through their use of surveillance and other monitoring activities. In a recent interview with Steven Crowder, she warned people that efforts to combat these threats might even be more dangerous than the threats themselves and that this is an issue everyone should agree on.

In recent months, giant tech companies such as Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube have censored conservative speech and flagged posts for ‘misinformation,’ even if those claims were later found to be true.

Facebook started demonetizing conservative pages for ‘misinformation,’ meaning they could no longer use the page for income purposes. They targeted conservative pundit Candace Owens who filed a lawsuit against Facebook shortly after, saying it was “time to fact-check the fact-checkers.” The debate intensified after Twitter, along with other several companies, put a permanent ban on former President Donald Trump from the platforms.

“Fundamentally as Americans, we agree on our constitutional right to free speech, [but now we] have these big tech monopolies essentially deciding who has a voice and who doesn’t in these virtual public town squares that they’ve created. You also have people in great positions of power in our government, for partisan or political reasons, trying to decide who gets to be heard and who doesn’t, just further inflaming the divisiveness and really, truly undermining our constitutional rights” said Gabbard.

She called Trump’s removal from social media platforms a major indicator of how powerful these monopolies have become, doing whatever they want and making billions of dollars in the process. They are able to do all of this through legal immunity provided to them under Section 230. She called it a very dangerous place to be as a country and that tech industry leaders should not be in a position to “pick and choose” who gets to have a voice and who needs to keep quiet.

In a video thread posted to Twitter, former Rep. Gabbard also called out the oligarchs in Big Tech, like John Brennans and Adam Schiffs, for trying to undermine our constitutional rights and turn our country into a police state with KGB-style surveillance. She called the Big Tech companies “much more powerful, and therefore dangerous, than the mob that stormed the Capitol.”

Gabbard said the solution was quite simple despite being a complex problem. Big Tech needs to be stripped from Section 230 protection, something Trump was frequently advocating for in reforming the law and working against tech censorship. Section 230 protects private companies from blocking and screening offensive material. Gabbard said all you have to do is reform the bill to remove the line that says ‘objectionable content,’ noting how incredibly vague the terminology is.

Big Tech has made billions from our private information and attention. Now they want to pick and choose who gets to have a voice. Politicians like Gabbard and Owens see the dangerous realities of what’s really going on in our country while the Dems continue to try and profit from it. Wait till Big Tech turns on the libs too…just like Antifa.
