House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy recently stated that forcing children to wear cloth masks to school is more harmful and less helpful than it should be. The fight to end forced masking in schools continues across the country.
McCarthy stated, “Let’s not be misled: there is no evidence that cloth masks reduce the spread of COVID.” It is harmful to students, young readers, deaf, and hard of hearing, but there are ample proofs.”
In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which updated its guidance in January admitted that cloth masks offer the lowest protection.
Despite bitter debates about the efficacy and safety of cloth masks in the past two years, Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted that drugstore masks were not effective at keeping out viruses in February 2020. The virus is small enough to pass through the masks.
McCarthy’s comment comes as prominent left-wing politicians continue living their lives in complete anonymity, at their own convenience, and pushing for school children to be masked. Stacey Abrams, Democrat Georgia’s governor-running candidate, is one of the most famous examples. She smiled gleefully as she was surrounded by masked children at Glenwood Elementary School in Decatur.
Celebrities also removed their masks during Super Bowl LVI, while Californian children are still forced to wear masks in school.
