Adam Schiff Appears To Fake Evidence In Text Messages At January 6 Committee

The committee discussed its motion that Mark Meadows, former chief of staff to the White House, be held in contempt of Congress for refusing to disclose information about Trump’s executive privilege.

Schiff altered the text messages he presented to the committee. He created the false impression that, instead of quoting original texts messages but fabricating them, he was actually quoting them.

Adam Schiff claimed he had evidence that a member of Congress sent Mark Meadows, former White House chief of staff, instructions to Mike Pence to reverse the 2020 presidential election results. Schiff misrepresented the content and the source of the message, but he also altered the original text messages.

Schiff claimed one message came from a GOP lawmaker. It stated that VP Mike Pence should call attention to all votes he considers unconstitutional.

Meadows was forced to testify and held Meadows in contempt. Joseph Schmitz, an ex-Defense Inspector General, sent the original message. He had prepared and summarized legal arguments, which Rep. Jim Jordan sent to Meadows.

Schiff deleted the two last paragraphs and the final clause in the first text message. He added punctuation that was missing. Schiff then displayed a graphic that looked identical to a screenshot. It had content that was not included in the original message and it was removed.

Schiff falsified evidence multiple times. faked a conversation between Trump and Volodymyr Zilenskyy during the House Intelligence Committee hearing. Schiff said that he was only playing a parody, and was not trying to make a false impression on the public. In his impeachment trial before the Senate, Schiff later feigned a second Trump quote to Zelenskyy.

Jamie Raskin, a member of the January 6 committee and a Maryland resident, also falsified evidence in support of Trump. Trump’s defense destroyed the Charlottesville hoax.
