There are a number of issues going on with the liberals. However, they seem hell-bent on not wanting Americans to have access to meat anymore.
It’s bad for the environment.
It’s bad for the animals.
Listen, here. It’s also an excellent source of protein. And any Christian knows that God put animals on the earth for us to eat. It says so right in Leviticus. Who are we to argue with the will of God?
Yet, that’s not going to stop PETA. They’ve been on anti-meat campaigns for years, though it seems as though they’ve found someone to attack.
Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma had some fun in March identifying that a particular week would be #MeatAllWeek. It would be a time for people to eat meat throughout the week. This, of course, came just a week after Jared Polis of Colorado identified that there would be a MeatOut Day to try to go plant-based for a day.
It wasn’t long before the New York Times decided to call it a meat war in the region. Cattleman’s associations focused on promoting meat consumption. It was a way to show support for the agriculture community since cattle farmers are an important part of the U.S. economy.
PETA, however, was absolutely disgusted and enraged. They’re aware that people still eat meat in the country, right? No matter how many “impossible” burgers are created, most Americans still find them to be impossible to eat.
PETA let Governor Stitt know that they would be placing a billboard near the Oklahoma State Capitol calling him a “meathead.”
The billboard was clever…and it was not at all insulting to Stitt who is proud not to be a vegetarian.
Ingrid Newkirk, the president of PETA, however, tweeted a picture of the billboard that went up in April with the comment that “Governor Stitt must have lard on the brain if he imagines that he can stall the vegan revolution.”
Oh, there’s an entire revolution going? We had no idea. She went on to explain that there’s an act of “political desperation” taking place. She urges everyone to see the meat industry as a “planet-polluting, artery-clogging, animal-killing disaster.”
Wow. Newkirk must not realize that beef is one of the most consumed meats in the United States. As many people become vegans, many people are still proud meat-eaters – and no billboards calling the governor of Oklahoma a “meathead” is going to change that.
Stitt decided to have some fun in response to the billboard. He decided that he would host a meat-filled cookout…right next to the PETA billboard.
Many thought it was a joke. Oh, no. He was serious – and it had quite the turnout, too.
The problem is that PETA wants to make this political. People aren’t choosing to go vegan if they’re Democrat and eating meat if they’re Republican. The reality is that most doctors will agree that humans need meat. It includes protein, vitamins, and minerals that you can’t get from plant-based foods.
Reporters had fun posting photos of steaks with the PETA billboard in the background. Many said that the grill was almost as big as the billboard – and that Governor Stitt was personally manning the grill.
The battle isn’t over, though. PETA continues to call the governor out for being a meathead, urging Oklahomans to “go vegan for life.” They’re delusional if they think that’s ever going to happen.
Perhaps the country could find some unity if the liberals would pick up a bible from time to time. It would solve all of their problems. After all, God told us to eat meat. And he told us that it is good.
As for eating meat being the destruction of the planet, that is hardly the case. Perhaps they need to call their friends in communist China to reduce the amount of pollution being created. Only when there is no more pollution in the world should the liberals even think about coming after America’s beef.
