On Tuesday, the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, revoked the security clearance of 37 current and former officials within the intelligence community who are reportedly related to the Russian Hoax.
Gabbard posted the official memo, as well as the names of those whose clearances were revoked on X, along with a statement:
Being entrusted with a security clearance is a privilege, not a right. Those in the Intelligence Community who betray their oath to the Constitution and put their own interests ahead of the interests of the American people have broken the sacred trust they promised to uphold. In doing so, they undermine our national security, the safety and security of the American people and the foundational principles of our democratic republic.
This is why, at [Donald Trump]’s direction, the [Office of the Department of National Intelligence] directed the revocation of the security clearances of 37 current and former intelligence professionals who have abused the public trust by politicizing and manipulating intelligence, leaking classified intelligence without authorization, and/or committing intentional egregious violations of tradecraft standards.
Our Intelligence Community must be committed to upholding the values and principles enshrined in the US Constitution and maintain a laser-like focus on our mission of ensuring the safety, security and freedom of the American people.
According to the memo, these 37 individuals were determined by the DNI to have used the office for the “politicization or weaponization of intelligence to advance personal, partisan, or non-objective agendas,” as well as “other conduct detrimental to the trust and confidence required for continued access to national security information.”
Among the names are former deputy director of National Intelligence for Mission Integration and frequent national security analyst for CNN, Beth Sanner, former Biden Executive Director for Intelligence at the NSC, and current Assistant Secretary for Intelligence at the DHS, Brett Homgren, as well as Stephanie O’Sullivan, who was former Principle Deputy Director of National Intelligence under Obama.
This development comes after Gabbard has been investigating the weaponization of the intelligence community, dating back to former President Obama, who gave the order to publish the Russia Collusion Hoax around Trump, according to documents she unearthed.
“The Russia Hoax was a lie that was knowingly created by the Obama Administration to undermine the legitimacy and power of the duly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump,” said Gabbard in a statement in July.
