If CNN is pouting about it, you know something good has just happened.
And something good has indeed just happened, as reports emerge that FBI Director Kash Patel has handed down harsh punishments to several FBI agents photographed smiling and kneeling down to mobs of Black Lives Matter (BLM) protestors during the George Floyd riots of 2020.
Remember this?
Not exactly covering themselves in glory, were they? Not to mention that they also weren’t doing their jobs, which on that day, June 4, 2020, was to protect federal buildings and monuments in Washington, DC, from the throngs of BLM thugs rampaging through the Nation’s Capital. You’ll recall that these “protestors” weren’t exactly mild-mannered activists marching in good faith; based on their previous actions, there was good reason to fear they would damage federal buildings.
It’s hard to tell from the photo in the above tweet, but other photographs from that day show the agents, most of whom are women, smiling broadly as they shamelessly took a knee to the horde. Despite claims by the likes of CNN that FBI agents aren’t trained in crowd deescalation techniques and, therefore, had to kneel for their own safety, it’s clear from the photos taken that day that the kneeling was a proud show of solidarity with the openly Marxist BLM movement.

Let’s just say that the optics of that day were terrible for the FBI.
According to CNN, the agents have all been “reassigned” to different roles within the agency, which equates to well-deserved demotions for all involved. Here’s how the CNN “reporter” phrased it:
The targeting of the kneelers is part of a broader effort by the new FBI leaders to make good on promises to root out what President Donald Trump has called “woke” and politicized elements inside the agency.
The fact that we are calling FBI agents “kneelers” is proof enough of the agency’s decline and lowering of standards. And the images from that day are hardly an effective argument against the idea that the FBI hadn’t fully embraced DEI hiring practices. All those shining, female faces tell the true story.
Gratifyingly, it seems that some agents at the time were sickened by the actions of their colleagues:
But later, after photos emerged, a furious reaction erupted inside the FBI. Some of the agents pictured kneeling were ostracized and personally attacked by their peers, current and former agents said.
Their comeuppance may have been a long time coming—it’s been nearly five years since those agents embarrassed themselves in front of the entire world—but it’s nonetheless welcome news and a positive sign that Kash Patel is making good on his pledge to bring accountability to the nation’s premiere federal law enforcement agency.
It’s Day 101 of the Trump administration and there’s really only one things to say here: Yeah, I voted for this. I’m guessing you did, too.
