Texas National Guard soldiers seized control of the US immigration checkpoint in Eagle Pass, Texas, Thursday and prevented US Border Patrol agents from accessing the facility. This action comes after Biden’s Border Patrol started using Shelby Park as a place to collect illegals before they are spread to the interior of the United States. This is the latest event in an escalating conflict between the citizens of Texas and the wildly incompetent Department of Homeland Security under the equally incompetent Alejandro Mayorkas.

According to freelance correspondent Ali Bradley, “All access to the property is limited to state authority only. Border Patrol will be permitted to enter the property to remove their equipment and supplies—Agents will not have access to the area unless there is a medical emergency.”

Texas is holding the line at our southern border with miles of additional razor wire and anti-climb barriers to deter and repel the record-high levels of illegal immigration invited by President Biden’s reckless open border policies. Instead of enforcing federal immigration laws, the Biden Administration allows unfettered access for Mexican cartels to smuggle people into out country. Texas will continue to deploy Texas National Guard soldiers, DPS troopers, and more barriers, utilizing every tool and strategy to respond to President Biden’s ongoing border crisis.
The Justice Department filed an emergency request with the Supreme Court early Friday to return control of the Eagle Pass crossing to the Border Patrol. Incredibly, the Biden White House was able to enlist the aid of the mayor of Eagle Pass in claiming that the residents were perfectly happy with the deluge of illegals and they didn’t want the government of Texas interfering.
While this is unfolding, the feckless, midwit Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas is being impeached by the House of Representatives.
It will be interesting to see how the Supreme Court sees this issue. But don’t overlook the possibility that a looming election year and sucking-swamp-water polling may force Biden to do something big. Like taking a page out of President Eisenhower’s Little Rock playbook and federalizing the Texas National Guard and sending them home.
