Deep Schiff: CA Dem Under Federal Criminal Probe After Trump Says He Must ‘Pay the Price of Prison’

Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is waking up this morning under a cloud of suspicion after learning he’s reportedly under federal criminal investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Maryland for alleged mortgage fraud. The Democrat impeachment hero is accused of falsifying bank documents and property records to secure favorable loan terms on properties in Maryland and California.

News of the investigation comes following a criminal referral sent by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in May.

Specifically, Schiff allegedly claimed a Potomac, Maryland, home as his primary residence on Fannie Mae-backed mortgage applications, including refinancings in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013, while simultaneously claiming a Burbank, California, condo as his primary residence for tax exemptions.

FHFA Director William Pulte, in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, concluded that Schiff engaged in a sustained pattern of possible occupancy misrepresentation in “multiple instances” by having “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms.”

Fox News host Laura Ingraham broke the story that Schiff is now the subject of a federal probe during her show, “The Ingraham Angle,” on Tuesday night.

President Donald Trump, who once dubbed the California Democrat “little pencil neck Adam Schiff,” raised questions about the alleged mortgage fraud on Truth Social weeks ago, saying he “always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist.”

He upped the ante shortly thereafter, saying the Senator needs to see prison time for his reported actions.

“Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff is in BIG TROUBLE! He falsified Loan Documents,” the President wrote on his Truth Social media platform. “Now Shifty should pay the price of prison for a real crime, not one made up by the corrupt accusers!”

Schiff countered by denying the allegations, calling them “baseless” and politically motivated, suggesting they are retaliation by a longtime political adversary.

“Since I led his first impeachment, Trump has repeatedly called for me to be arrested for treason,” Schiff wrote on X. “So in a way, I guess this is a bit of a letdown. And this baseless attempt at political retribution won’t stop me from holding him accountable.”

He followed that up with a lengthy video freaking out a bit about Trump’s accusations, mischaracterizing them as an attack for owning two homes as opposed to addressing the substantive fraud claims.

Schiff has yet to publicly comment on the matter now that a federal criminal investigation has been revealed. But extensive analysis by RedState shows he might be in some significant hot water.

RedState’s Bonchie revealed a “smoking gun” video, which shows the Senator unequivocally stating he has never maintained a primary residence other than the one he has in the Golden State, insisting the California home “always has been and always will be” his “primary residence.”

That’s not what the forms say – allegedly.

RedState reported on Schiff’s apparent discrepancies regarding his mortgage loans back in November 2023.

Bonchie also points out that the situation becomes further embroiled in controversy when you realize that had Schiff maintained primary residence in Maryland, he wouldn’t have been eligible to hold various elected offices in California.

The criminal investigation into Schiff is a good reminder that, as Democrats have reminded the American people for years, no one is above the law.
