MSNBC Host Michael Steele’s Analogy About Kilmar Abrego Garcia Is Definitely One for the Books

We’ve seen a lot of bad takes when it comes to the question of illegal alien and alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

However, the analogy that MSNBC host Michael Steele used to describe the situation was certainly one for the books and has to be up there for the “worst take.” I think it’s fair to say this is unhinged.

“How is this different from when Putin grabs a journalist or uh, some you know rogue group in the Middle East grabs an American, and we’re sitting here fighting to try to get them back.”

“Our own government did this. Our own government snatched him up and put him in harm’s way, and now refuses to do what it must do and should do to get him back home.”

So let me make it very simple for Steele, since he seems confused.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia was deported back to his “home.” His home is not Maryland, he’s a citizen of El Salvador. He entered the U.S. illegally. A man from El Salvador was deported back to El Salvador.

While there are legal questions because of a Supreme Court decision, it is not in any way whatsoever like a foreign government taking hostages. But hey, check in with some of the folks on the left who seem to be shilling for Hamas, who took hostages. You know the innocent Americans who were kidnapped and taken to Gaza.

Imagine going this far over the edge to defend illegal aliens. And Steele is talking with Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-MD), who was the latest Democrat to go to El Salvador. Ivey went over Memorial Day weekend to see Abrego Garcia but was denied, and filmed a rant about it. He referred to Abrego Garcia as his “constituent” and was disturbed that the El Salvador officials there wouldn’t let him, a member of a foreign Congress, see their citizen.

And Democrats wonder why they are in the wilderness with the American people. It’s because they’re on board with bizarre takes like this. This isn’t the first person I’ve heard with this kind of take; it’s become a common narrative on the left that Abrego Garcia was “kidnapped” or “snatched.” If Democrats continue down this path, they will find out that they’ll lose even more ground come the 2026 midterms. They really should listen to themselves, but at this point, I don’t think they even understand why this sounds so bad. That’s why they’re so lost with the American public.

Dilbert creator Scott Adams and others on X blasted the unhinged analogy from Steele.

Keep doing this, Democrats, I’m sure it will work well for you.

The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject their globalist agenda.
