Big Name WaPo Columnist Points a Finger at Jill Biden, Talks ‘Elder Abuse’

One of the things about the issue of Joe Biden’s cognitive decline that has always gotten to me is the question of Jill Biden. How could she encourage him to run again if she loved him? That blows my mind. That video after his incoherent debate was searing, where she told him like a teacher telling a 5-year-old that he “answered every question.” And he just stood there.

The Whole ‘Dr’ Jill Debate Comes to a Rather Dramatic – and Fitting – Conclusion

Ed Morrissey, at our sister site Hot Air, has reported on a big name who is now pointing the finger at Jill Biden on this matter: Sally Quinn.

No one exemplifies that establishment as Sally Quinn does. Not only is Quinn the doyenne of DC ‘society,’ she also has a columnist gig at the Washington Post for decades. Quinn was married to legendary Post editor Ben Bradlee for 36 years until his death in 2014, and has long been a formidable figure in the nation’s capital, both politically and socially.

So when Sally Quinn throws someone under a bus, it means something — especially when that someone has been around DC as long as Quinn has.

Quinn did not hold back when she went on Tara Palmieri’s show.

“I blame Jill Biden for this. Jill Biden is his wife. And if Jill Biden had stood up and gone to him and said, ‘Joe, you can’t do it’… He wouldn’t have run,” Quinn told Palmeri. “She clearly was in favor of his running and I just think it was a terrible disservice to the country.”

Quinn described feeling aghast by how Jill Biden continued to push ahead and rally support for her husband’s presidential campaign immediately after the “hideous” June 2024 presidential debate, which sparked debate over whether Biden was fit to serve another four years.

Quinn said she thought Jill wasn’t protecting him, and she brought up the incident in that video I mentioned above.

“I thought it was elder abuse, really,” Quinn said.

She said of the D.C. establishment. “Everybody thought he shouldn’t run….People were just distraught that he was running and terrible for the party.” So it wasn’t like people didn’t know. Maybe they didn’t all know the degree, but they knew it was wrong. Yet you had precious few saying anything.

Quinn also raised a question about the cancer diagnosis.

“The president of the United States has the best medical care in the world, or should, and it should’ve been diagnosed a long time ago,” she said. “It’s hard for me not to believe that they didn’t know about it and were waiting to reveal it until it got too aggressive.”

If anyone thought that the diagnosis was going to stop the questions, they miscalculated.
