As RedState has detailed, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) have been on a cross-country tour for the last couple of months, presenting themselves as the faces of the Democrat Party, warning of a Trump/Musk-led “oligarchy,” and alleging people in both major political parties have “failed” working class Americans.
The tour, as we’ve also documented, has run into some snags, with admitted socialist AOC being caught using a strange accent at some of the rallies. While that maybe could be explained away, what can’t be is how she was caught early on taking first-class flights while railing against “the rich,” likely spending over $1,000 a ticket and contributing to the so-called global warming crisis while she was at it.
“AOC is fighting the system one first-class mimosa at a time,” the passenger who revealed the Squad leader’s presence on the flight quipped, according to a report from the New York Post at the time.

As it turns out, not only is AOC still at it with the expensive flights, but so is Sanders, who reportedly has spent a staggering $220,000 on private jets since the middle of February:
Sen. Bernie Sanders has crisscrossed the country on his nationwide Fighting Oligarchy Tour to rail against billionaires and supposed “oligarchs” like Elon Musk—while traveling like an oligarch himself.
Campaign expenditures released Tuesday and reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon show Sanders’s main campaign committee, Friends of Bernie Sanders, spent $221,723 chartering private jets during the first quarter of 2025, with the first payment coming just days before the launch of his tour in February.
Further, the expensive flights took place as recently as this week:
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., chartered a private jet worth up to a staggering $15,000 an hour for several West Coast stops on their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour.
Sanders boarded the luxury Bombardier Challenger private jet at the Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield, California, on Tuesday afternoon, according to a photo captured by a source on the ground and shared exclusively with Fox News Digital. Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez, whom the source also spotted boarding the private jet, spoke at their “Fighting Oligarchy” event in Bakersfield just hours earlier.
Flight records reveal the jet landed at Sacramento Mather Airport on Tuesday evening, which is about a 20-minute drive to Folsom, California, where the self-identified Democratic socialists hosted their second rally of the day.
Gee, it’s kinda hard to present yourself as a man/woman of the people if you can’t be bothered to take a flight sitting alongside them.
That said, AOC – like many on the left – is no stranger to the “rules for thee” philosophy.
During the height of the coronavirus pandemic, for instance, and as Democrats and media figures alike were hammering Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for his more freedom-based approach to combating the virus in contrast then-NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) draconian style, AOC and her boyfriend, Riley Roberts, were caught vacationing in Florida — maskless.
Hilariously, the leader of the “Squad” of Congressional left-wing radicals did not take her hypocrisy being exposed well, tweeting, “If Republicans are mad they can’t date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet.”
DeSantis, on the other hand, had a great response as usual, noting that “If I had a dollar for every lockdown politician who decided to escape to Florida over the last two years, I’d be a pretty doggone wealthy man.”
And if we all had a dollar for every time Democrats advocated for laws they didn’t think should apply to themselves, their families, friends, and wealthy donors, we might be able to come pretty close to paying off the national debt. Just sayin’.
