Never one to shy away from melodramatic racist hyperbole, embattled Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson says America under the “raggedy” Trump White House is “being ran” [sic] as if the South had won the Civil War. Not to be crass, but “raggedy” Chicago under Brandon Johnson is being run as if it had lost to a failed third-world country hellhole.
In addition to ridiculously saying the country looks like it might have if slavery had never ended, Johnson declared President Donald Trump “believes he is a supreme being.”
Then Johnson waxed even more idiotic, saying the U.S. Congress should focus more on slavery reparations rather than arresting and deporting illegal alien criminals in his city.
The next time you talk to the committee chair, ask him if he would be interested in doing a hearing on how (slavery) reparations can transform people’s lives.
This Oversight Committee, of all the things that they want to have sight over, they should look at the White House right now. That White House is being ran [sic] in one of the most raggedy forms of government that I have ever seen.
If anybody is questioning what our country would look like had the confederacy won (the Civil War), there should be no question now,” Johnson said. “I will not be intimidated by some weak individual who won’t stand up who believes he’s a supreme being right now.
If they want to have a real discussion about (illegal aliens) who are criminals, they should look at the very individuals who enslaved my people and colonized this land.
Memo to my numerous friends in Chicago, some of whom are Democrats: This unbalanced lunatic is on you guys. Congrats on electing someone even worse than former mayor Lori Lightfoot.
Johnson was asked if he would go to Washington, D.C., as requested, to testify before the House Oversight Committee on so-called “sanctuary cities.”

Rep. Jim Comer (R-KY), the committee chairman, said he expects Johnson to show up. If he doesn’t come voluntarily, Comer said he will subpoena him, compelling Johnson to attend or be held in contempt of Congress. In a letter dated Jan. 27, Comer invited Johnson to testify on Feb. 11.
The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is investigating sanctuary jurisdictions across the United States and their impact on public safety and the effectiveness of federal efforts to enforce the immigration laws of the United States.
Sanctuary jurisdictions and their misguided and obstructionist policies hinder the ability of federal law enforcement officers to effectuate safe arrests and remove dangerous criminals from American communities, making Americans less safe.
Chicago is a sanctuary jurisdiction that refuses to fully cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. To provide much needed oversight of this matter, the Committee requests documents and information related to the sanctuary policies of Chicago.
Johnson didn’t say whether he would attend the hearing, but he did reference Trump.
I will not be intimidated by some weak individual who won’t stand up who believes he’s a supreme being right now.
So here’s the thing. Given the no-nonsense actions we’ve seen from President Trump, Border Czar Tom Homan, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and others, Johnson can run his mouth to his heart’s content, but he’d be well-advised to not only attend the hearing but also to stop the grandstanding about resisting ICE when it comes knocking on doors in the Windy City to, as Noem recently said, nab the “dirtbags.”
Comer also “invited” mayors of other so-called “sanctuary cities,” including New York City, Denver, and Boston.
