It’s another good morning for President-elect Donald Trump with the news Thursday that the Georgia Court of Appeals disqualified Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from her election interference case against the president-elect.
“While we recognize that an appearance of impropriety is generally not enough to support disqualification, this is the rare case in which disqualification is mandated and no other remedy will suffice to restore public confidence in the integrity of these proceedings,” Brown and the other appellate jurists contended.
The judges underscored that booting Willis from the case would help resolve the “odor of mendacity.
While they didn’t dismiss the indictment, they did say that none of her assistants had the authority to proceed as well since their power “is derived from the constitutional authority of the district attorney who appointed them.”

CNN then had to break the news to their viewers, and the look on anchor Jim Acosta’s face as he had to acknowledge it was something else. It was great karma that the news broke when he was at the desk.
Reporter Katelyn Polantz had to acknowledge the severe blow this was to the case: “That case against him in Georgia had already been paused. Now, it’s not even backburnered — this is a case that will be dead in the water” because of the disqualification of Willis and the finding of a “significant appearance of impropriety.”
Polantz explained it would be a long process to replace her, which is why she’s saying the case is “dead in the water” without Willis. She outlined how all the cases against Trump had been incapacitated.
The lawfare has just imploded, and this case never should have been brought to begin with.
The sad Acosta looks are glorious. Break out the crying towel, because the Democrats are going to need some counseling with all this Trump winning.
Never can get enough of that. He didn’t look at all happy that they had to make the announcement and that he had to detail even more good news for Donald Trump.
Acosta was already whining about the ABC settlement with Trump for $15 million (plus $1 million in attorneys’ fees) over George Stephanopoulos’ false statements. He spoke about the “chilling effect” on media and argued they had to “stand firm.” What does it say if having to be truthful is having a “chilling effect” on media?
And we’re just getting started — Trump isn’t even in office yet, and they can’t take it.
