Kamala Harris appeared on Stephen Colbert’s show Tuesday night in the latest attempt by her campaign to avoid substantive interviews in favor of inane, preschool-level lovefests. The always-odious, leftist Colbert happily obliged in what can only be called, in the words of my RedState colleague Nick Arama, a grotesque “slobberfest.”
RedState’s Bonchie was also all over Harris’ Colbert appearance, calling it “one of the most inauthentic, cringe interviews she’s ever done.” And that’s saying something since she’s hardly been distinguishing herself as a sober candidate with serious policy positions.
More from Bonchie on Tuesday night’s “interview”:
When you are on Colbert, you aren’t supposed to stare at the audience and lecture them. Harris can’t help herself, though. She is so over-rehearsed and inauthentic, and it comes out in every answer she gives.
She really can’t help herself, can she? It’s almost as if she’s convinced herself that she’s a clever wordsmith and the world is hanging on her every word. Well, we are, but not for the reason she’d like to believe.
Picking the worst part of her Colbert appearance is difficult, but one really stood out to me and that’s when she put on her sneering, holier-than-thou attitude – and terrible Jamaican (?) accent – to take a thinly-veiled shot at Ron DeSantis:
Cringe doesn’t even begin to describe this unserious woman. She is downright seething that she’s been frozen out of the DeSantis-Biden bromance over preparations for Hurricane Milton. DeSantis took her to the woodshed over her attempts to “blunder in” to the conversation about Milton, calling her “delusional” for saying him not taking her phone call was “selfish.”
Not one to be politically astute when she can be politically exploitative, Hurricane Kamala instead bizarrely decided this was the hill on which she’d die. It’s a fight she couldn’t possibly win, considering her abysmal response as sitting vice president to the plight of Hurricane Helene’s victims. Not to mention Ron DeSantis’ seasoned, stellar leadership when it comes to dealing with hurricanes.
But, pick a fight she did, and she made things all that much worse on Colbert by cloaking herself in condescension and faux-concern by asking, “Where is your empathy, man?” She didn’t have the courage to name DeSantis, of course, which Colbert let her get away with; a girl boss, she is not.
It takes a special kind of ignorance to stand atop a pile of failed policies and nonsensical ramblings and call out someone else for a lack of empathy. This sanctimonious attitude is really rich coming from the woman who is married to alleged abuser-of-women Doug Emhoff.
Emhoff, who reportedly once hit a girlfriend so hard across the face that her entire body actually spun around, has also been outed as being a workplace predator:
Second gentleman Doug Emhoff is being accused of acting anything but gentlemanly during his time at a prestigious LA law firm, according to a new report.
Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband is accused of being “flirty” with women at his law office, retaliating against those who didn’t return his overtures and hiring a model as a “trophy secretary,” according to the Daily Mail and a lawsuit filed against the firm.
Employees of Emhoff, who ran Venable’s Los Angeles office from 2006 to 2017, claimed he would single out “young, pretty girls” at the firm and invite them to cruise around with him in a limo, according to the Mail — which did not name the employees.
Super nice guy. And super weird that Kamala would put up with this kind of behavior from her spouse, considering she’s supposedly an ardent supporter of all abuse victims.
As you might’ve guessed, there hasn’t been a peep from Madame Vice President on her philandering husband’s abusive behavior. There also hasn’t been the intense media scrutiny of Doug Emhoff that you’d get if she was married to a Republican. As the saying goes, if the left didn’t have double standards, they wouldn’t have any standards at all.
And they don’t have standards, nor do they have empathy. Kamala Harris certainly doesn’t show empathy toward abuse victims, especially those who may have suffered at the hands of her own husband, she didn’t show empathy toward hurricane victims and definitely doesn’t have empathy for the many Americans struggling due to the destructive economic policies of the Biden-Harris administration. After all, she said there’s not a Biden policy that she’d change.
Clean your own house, Kamala, before you dare tell anyone else to have “empathy.” Where is YOUR empathy, woman?
