It’s hard to believe that there are people hateful enough to rip down posters of people including little kids who were kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. As I reported, we even saw a woman rip down a poster for a prayer vigil in Montclair, New Jersey, and then she had no real response as to why she did it. The exchange was something to behold, but it showed she knew she was in the wrong and couldn’t even begin to justify it.
But unfortunately, we’ve seen a ton of people including a lot of leftists doing this kind of thing and some of it has led to violence, as it did on Tuesday in Brooklyn.
Melissa Ugur, 20, was allegedly cutting the posters up with a knife in the middle of the afternoon when a Jewish man who was with Shmira Public Safety asked her what she was doing. Shmira is a non-profit volunteer safety group that patrols in the area.
But she wasn’t at all happy to be confronted. She allegedly yelled, “I’m going to cut you,” then pulled out pepper spray and sprayed the volunteer in the face.
Ugur walked away but other volunteers followed her and she was arrested by the police. As she was being taken away, she yelled, “They’re kidnapping and I pepper sprayed him!” Probably not the best thing to admit in front of the police, but it sounds like she had a lot of issues if she was doing what she was alleged to be doing, to begin with. She was dressed fully in black, even with a black mask, so one has to wonder if maybe she was in black bloc to disguise herself. as well.

Shmira gave even more details to the attack, claiming that she said “Allah Akbar, I will cut all you Jews up.”‘
This past Shabbos afternoon, a Jewish Shmira volunteer was pepper sprayed directly in his eyes after asking an individual as to why they're ripping off the famous posters regarding the hostages kidnapped by Hamas. The individual then pointed a knife at our volunteer, and yelled… pic.twitter.com/HfxpDow3Fl

Ugur has now been charged with assault, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Chances they’d hold her, given the danger that she appeared to represent? None. After all, it’s New York City.
She’s already been arraigned and released without bail, pending her next court date in January. I’m not going to bet that she gets a lot of punishment for this.
Things are getting out of control with the hateful actions on the anti-Israel side. We’ve already seen an elderly Jewish man killed in Los Angeles during a protest, with troubling video concerning the event showing some of the vile hatred being flung around.
Then there was the woman in Indianapolis who ran her car into what she thought was a Jewish school because she was upset over the war against Hamas with children and adults inside. Ironically, it turned out that it was an extremist Black Hebrew Israelite school. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
The craziness is probably only going to get worse in the short term.
