Kids need to be beware in Los Angeles as the liberal Teacher Unions are out prowling around looking for other ways to damage the kid’s learning ability. Cecily Myart-Cruz would vehemently deny such actions. But she comes and says that “there is no such thing as learning loss.” And yet, there has been massive evidence and testimony to the contrary from students and parents who testify that a lot has been lost because COVID based learning restrictions.
Myart-Cruz is the nasty president of the United Teachers of Los Angeles. Her group of kid haters does not want to return to the classroom until every germ has been removed from every child’s skin.
Myart-Cruz is a crafty liar as she tries to tell people that there is no learning loss in schools. And yet she goes on to admit that “It’s OK that our babies may not have learned all their time’s tables. They learned resilience. They learned survival. They learned critical-thinking skills. They know the difference between a riot and a protest. They know the words insurrection and coup.”
There is a massive learning loss regarding the skills and information that kids need to grow up. But under her leadership, they will undoubtedly be able to lead a coup or instigate an insurrection. The liberal president has seen to it try and educate students about the difference between a protest and a riot. And a liberal, she is bound to get it backward given the riots last year.
The wacky president of the union-led her teachers to demand insane desires because of the coronavirus. She told the schools that teachers should not teach remotely for more than four hours a day. They would have to receive a full day’s pay even though they worked only half a day. The teachers only gave students work to do on their own with little to no guidance.
The harsh learning environment that Myart-Cruz created would lead most of the 229,000 elementary students not even to attend online classes. Most of the students would fail to login into their school environment to complete their classwork. And somehow, these students did not suffer from their learning, according to witchy Myart-Cruz.
The teacher’s union failed the students when they decided to abandon their mission and embrace socialist politics. The union would state that “The COVID-19 pandemic in the United States underscores the deep equity and justice challenges arising from our profoundly racist, intensely unequal society.” Which has nothing to do with searching out the best ways to educate children.
TheThe union went on to embrace defunding the police and limit the number of charter schools. They believed that the charter schools were nothing but a drag on the money given to the school union to use for learning.
Myart-Cruz stated that the kids at least would learn how to riot and make unreasonable demands. At least in that statement, she was truthful. Students would learn from her example how to get what they want at all costs. The leader of the teacher’s union failed to demonstrate how the Constitution spelled out how civil change could take place.
Austin Beutner was the superintendent of the district. He quit because of the insanity coming from the union. He would state that “UTLA leadership were asked to consider all the different ways to [return to classrooms] with full pay… They would not agree to any of these.”
The bloated Myart-Cruz would defy parents and staff to stiff students. Even under the threat of lawsuits, she would say, “You can recall the Governor. You can recall the school board. But how are you going to recall me?” Her arrogance has led her to think that she cannot be removed from her position of power.
Even after being offered billions of dollars to reopen, the union president resisted because of her greed. She was not getting everything she wanted out of the state, so she was not about to recall teachers and allow them to do their job the way they were hired to do it. She wanted to instill her version of Nazi training for the young people. Except she will find out soon what it means to work for the taxpayer and not for herself.
