The World Health Organization recently released some conflicting guidance. They’ve started to urge fully vaccinated individuals to continue wearing face masks and maintain social distancing guidelines amid the spread of COVID-19’s Delta variant.
Health officials emphasized that the Delta variant is understood to be more transmissible and cause “more severe cases of the disease” as it makes its way around the world. Here we go again. Looks like the radical left just couldn’t give up their political power. People should’ve stopped listening to WHO when they found out how much funding it receives from China.
According to Dr. Mariangela Simao, WHO assistant director-general, physical distancing and avoiding crowds continues to be “extremely important,” even if you are vaccinated. She emphasized that people who are vaccinated “cannot feel safe just because they’ve had two doses” and went on to claim that there should still be an abundance of caution.
“Vaccine alone won’t stop community transmission. People need to continue to use masks consistently, be in ventilated spaces, hand hygiene, the physical distance, avoid crowding. This still continues to be extremely important, even if you’re vaccinated when you have a community transmission ongoing,” Simao said.
WHO senior adviser Dr. Bruce Aylward also urged vaccinated people to “play it safe” as the Delta variant drives surges and said that we still live in a world that is only partially vaccinated. He pointed out how different countries have different recommendations and measures, but that everyone (vaccinated or not) should act with caution.
While the US Centers for Disease Control & Prevention has not responded to the updated WHO guidance, others have said that they are going to take the advice with a “grain of salt.”
Director of accreditation and infection prevention Chad Neilsen said he would be taking the advice with a grain of salt, as he understands where the World Health Organization is coming from and who they’re speaking to with that data. He said they make ‘blanket statements’ for countries as small as Indonesia to as large as Russia and are trying to get out a broad category message regardless of vaccination rates.
Duval County Medical Society Foundation president Dr. Sunil Joshi said he would be following the CDC’s recommendations and that he would be recommending his patients to follow the same.
The current guidelines for the CDC state that “fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.”
The Wall Street Journal also recently reported that half of the adults infected during the delta variant outbreak were vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
Democrats will try to use the Delta variant excuse to force the vaccine on kids everywhere, even though they have a 99.99% survival rate. Here comes the attempt at control and compliance again. There must be an election on the horizon.
