Teacher Unions Continue To Push A ‘Woke’ Agenda Into Classrooms

Big Government and teacher unions are closer than most think. The White House recently released its visitor’s logs, which show American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten and National Education Association president Becky Pringle sitting down with first lady Jill Biden shortly before the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention released its latest guidance on schools reopening. The reports were criticized and state officials suggested that the CDC had been taking recommendations from these unions for quite some time.

National Republican Senatorial Committee spokesperson Katharine Cooksey pointed out how every single Democrat has echoed the same “union-approved talking points” to keep schools closed and jam a “radical, job-killing agenda” through Congress.

“While Republicans are working to get kids back in the classrooms and the economy moving again, Democrats are taking orders from their bosses at the unions to keep schools closed and stifle job opportunities,” Cooksey said.

Teachers have even gone so far as to blame ‘white supremacy’ for the parents demanding that schools reopen and treating teachers like a ‘wait staff.’ A Latin teacher at John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento suggested that the parents who want their kids back for in-person learning are “White supremacists” and that people have attempted to bully the school boards into making schools less safe for children and teachers.

But even the director of the CDC, Rochelle Walensky, has said that schools can safely reopen even if teachers are not vaccinated for the coronavirus. She said it is not a “prerequisite” for the reopening of schools and that the data shows social distancing and mask-wearing reduces the spread of the virus in school settings. Dr. Anthony Fauci, President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, agreed that it is not necessary for schools to reopen and premature to consider requiring the vaccine in certain settings, like school.

As schools slowly reopen, state lawmakers have also proposed bills to ban the teachings of Critical Race Theory and similar ‘woke’ curriculums being pushed in public schools and universities. Race and gender-based education argue that “one race or sex is inherently superior to another” and that an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently “racist, sexist, or oppressive.”

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt recently signed a bill to ban the teachings. Adding that the country needs policies that bring us closer together, not rip us apart. “I firmly believe that not one cent of taxpayer money should be used to define and divide young Oklahomans by their race or sex,” he said. He became the first governor to sign legislation banning radical-left education into law. Teacher unions have continued to push curriculum based on certain parts of Critical Race Theory, The New York Times’ controversial “1619 Project” and work from Ibram X Kendi, author of “How to Be an Antiracist.”

AFT President Weingarten recently appeared on Fox News’ “The Story” with host Martha MacCallum to discuss why unions were pushing to implement these curriculums. MacCallum asked Weingarten why they wanted children to believe that the country was founded on the basis of preserving slavery. She points out that the “1619 Project” is not factual and that there was no evidence that colonists were “motivated” by that in coming to America. She went on to challenge some of the assertions put forth by the project.

“It would be wrong as a historian to want to teach them something that is not true because that is the basis that sets up all of these other tenants that lead to teaching kids that we live in a systemically racist country,” MacCallum argues.

Instead of answering the issues at hand, Weingarten appeared to deflect from the topic and focus instead on the coverage of the 2020 election. “I would hope that Fox would be just as focused on let’s get rid of the misinformation about what happened in this election,” she replies.

MacCallum interjects and said that was not the topic at hand. She asks again if Weingarten supports American students learning that the country was founded on racism and whether she supports teaching impressionable children that “if they’re White they belong to an oppressor class and if they’re Black they belong to a victim class.”

Weingarten said she loves the United States and its ability to “make itself better” but that the classrooms should be talking about when the slave trade started. She continued to push back against anything wrong with teaching the 1619 Project or Critical Race Theory in conjunction with traditional American history courses.

More legislation comes out to prevent young children from feeling guilt or shame and being cast as an “oppressor” and viewing every social situation under the lens of race.

If you teach division and hate, that’s exactly what you’re going to get.

  1. From what they have approved, I would not be paying school taxes at all. If all lives don’t matter then since I’m white I would not pay school taxes at all and I would fight for that right. This is getting to be a racist school against white people. My kids would not be sent to the school either. I wonder if they have any white teachers. Now they are promoting racism against whites. No way.

  2. Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite
justification appeared to be on the net the simplest thing to be aware of.
