Biden Administration To Allow 25,000 Asylum-Seekers Into U.S Starting Feb. 19

The Biden Administration recently announced that the United States would let around 25,000 asylum seekers into the country as they await their hearings, in yet another move to fight Trump’s prior immigration policies.

The Department of Homeland Security reported that the change in plans for those currently placed in the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) will be processed for entry and go into effect on Feb. 19. The Trump administration previously introduced the policy MPP to reverse a surge of asylum-seekers in January 2019.

Former acting Homeland Security Secretary had said that the MPP policy has been a “game-changer” in the U.S government’s efforts to address the ongoing crisis at the southwest border. The Trump Administration had made an agreement with the Mexican government to send more than 70,000 migrants to Mexico.

The Biden Administration said they planned to reform the nation’s immigration system and begin phase one of a program to “restore safe and orderly processing at the southwest border.” They called the latest action “another step” in their commitment to reform policies that do not align with the nation’s. Why don’t they just say they are trying to upend all of Trump’s policies? That’s the only thing the Biden Administration has done since entering office.

The three ports expect to process up to 300 people a day, though President Biden has declined to publicly identify the crossing points out of fear it “may encourage” a rush of people. However, immigration officials have allegedly told reps that the entry points will be Brownsville and El Paso in Texas, and San Diego’s San Ysidro crossing in California.

Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement Acting Director Tom Homan warned the Biden Administration that his immigration policies have caused a surge at the border. ICE agents will no longer deport immigrants for crimes, as well as prepare new guidelines that could decrease the deportations of illegal immigrants. Convictions would exclude drug-based crimes, simple assault, DUI, money laundering, property crimes, fraud, tax crimes, solicitation, or charges without conviction.

“Be clear what’s happening here: President Biden has declared the entire country a sanctuary jurisdiction, which means more tragedies gonna come. Mark my word, people will die, people will be raped, people will be victimized by criminals that shouldn’t even be here. This is, it’s coming. And you know, we’ve been talking about this for two years. And it’s already started,” Homan said.

Homan said that 95% of the criminals ICE have arrested are now off the table and free in the community. He said you’d have to commit a serious felony and be prioritized for arrest and removal in order to send a message to the world.

The Biden Administration even canceled the national Operation Talon, that sought to arrest at-large illegal aliens with sex crime convictions to include child molestation. The Trump administration planned the operation in their final weeks. “So it’s already started, we have sexual predators who are here illegally walking the streets, in our communities, because of the actions of this administration,” he said.

This is another power over public safety quest for Democrats. They vow to “protect American citizens” while being the very ones endangering them.
